Arlington Police Protect And Serve By Reading During Coronavirus
Arlington County Police officers are reading storybooks on Facebook Live to children stuck at home due to the coronavirus.
ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department has found a new way to serve and protect the public during the coronavirus crisis.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 2 p.m., school resource officers are logging onto Facebook Live to read stories to children stuck at home because Arlington County Schools have closed their doors due to the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
The officers are serving the public by entertaining the children who are watching and giving their parents a break for a little while. They're also protecting the community by making social distancing a bit more bearable to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
