Arrest Made In 2017 Fatal Shooting Of Northwest Man: Police
Homicide detectives made an arrest in connection with the 2017 fatal shooting of 53-year-old Eric Linnair Wright.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Southeast man in connection with the February 2017 fatal shooting of 53-year-old Eric Linnair Wright of Northwest, according to a police release.
Officers from the First District responded around 9:21 p.m., on Feb. 17, 2017 to the 900 block of 12th Street, Northeast for the report of the sounds of gunshots. They found Wright unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Wright to a nearby hospital, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
Acing on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant Friday, members of the Capital Area Fugitive Task Force arrested Cotey Wynn, 39, of Southeast, and charged him with second degree murder while armed.

MPD released Wynn's arrest record, which includes charges of felony murder, first degree murder, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, and distribution of a controlled substance. Wynn was under the supervision of the District's Pretrial Services Agency at the time of his arrest.
