Arrest Made In DC Stabbing Death From 1992, Two Other Cold Cases

D.C. police charged a Maryland man on Wednesday in connection with three cold cases, including a stabbing death that occurred in 1992.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department charged a Maryland man on Wednesday in connection with three cold cases, including a stabbing death that occurred in 1992 and two other murders that occurred in 2008 and 2010.

Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, working with the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Repeat Offender Unit, arrested 53-year-old John Carrington, of Clinton, Maryland. Carrington was arrested in Southeast D.C. related to an arrest warrant for murder that occurred in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Carrington was additionally charged with two counts of first degree murder while armed in connection with the 2008 and 2010 cases and one count of felony murder in connection to the 1992 stabbing death.

In the 1992 case, D.C. police officers responded to the Unit block of T Street in Northwest on Aug. 30, 1992 for the report of a stabbing. A man, 29-year-old Charles Boulware of Northwest D.C., was found suffering from apparent stab wounds. Boulware died later at a hospital.

On March 15, 2008, D.C. police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound at North Capitol and Evarts streets Northeast. The man, 42-year-old Reginald Gaither of Alexandria, was declared dead at the scene.

More than two years later, on Dec. 10, 2010, police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2900 block of Southern Avenue Southeast. The victim, 25-year-old James Campbell of Bladensburg, Maryland, died later at a hospital.
