Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of District Heights Man
Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Northeast man Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Antoine Pierce.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department made an arrest Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Antoine Pierce of District Heights, Maryland, according to a police release.
Officers from the Fifth District responded around 3:58 p.m., Friday for the report of a traffic accident at the intersection of 21st Street and Benning Road, Northeast. They found Pierce inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. After examining Pierce, D.C. Fire and EMS determined that he had died and later transported him to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
On Saturday, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Jamall Thornton, 26, of Northeast, and charged him with second degree murder while armed. This remains an active investigation.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
