Assault With Deadly Weapon In Southeast; Maryland Man Wanted

WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives are asking the public's help in locating a Maryland man wanted in connection with a December shooting in the Buena Vista, according to a police release.

On Sunday, Dec. 22, around 4:33 p.m., officers from the Seventh District were dispatched for the report of a shooting in the 2900 block of 30th Street, S.E. Arriving on the scene, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police identified Gregory Toran, 37, of Jessup, Maryland, as the suspect in the case. Currently wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Toran should be considered armed and dangerous.
