Attention, DC Area Lyft Users: You Can Ride in the Ghostbusters Car [VIDEO]

The Ecto-1 will be riding around D.C. and a few other cities this weekend.

If you order a Lyft in the D.C. area this weekend, don't be shocked if the famous Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters pulls up to your door.

Lyft is doing a cross-promotion with the new Ghostbusters movie -- arriving in theaters July 15 -- and giving free Ecto-1 rides in Washington, D.C. as well as in Boston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, according to a post on the Lyft blog.

"In honor of the new Ghostbusters movie coming out July 15, we’re putting Ecto-1s on the road," the post adds. "Tap to request in Ghost Mode for a free, tricked-out ride to another dimension."

The promotion has almost run out today (Friday, July 1), but you still have between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, to get in on the fun. The Ghostbusters ride will also include a Hi-C Ecto Cooler and Ghostbuster-themed Twinkies for riders to enjoy.

The Ecto-1 was the vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel through New York City busting ghosts and ghouls. It was a modified 1959 Cadillac built by Miller-Meteor in the ambulance/hearse configuration.

The new Ghostbusters is a reboot of the originally 1984 film, this time with an all-female cast starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
