Benning Area Sexual Assault Investigated By DC Police

D.C. Police are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a juvenile in the Benning area Sunday night.

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Youth and Family Services Division, Physical and Sexual Abuse Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with sexual abuse offense that took place Sunday in the Benning area, according to a police release.

At about 11:45 p.m., a man approached the juvenile victim in the 4400 block of Benning Road, N.E., and engaged in an unwanted sexual act, before he fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police describe the suspect as a heavyset Black man with a light complexion, and black hair in a dreadlocks hairstyle. He was wearing a black shirt and blue pants.
