'Black Panther' Pop-Up Bar Opening In DC This Weekend: Report

Enter Wakanda, a bar inspired by the film, reportedly will be showing up on U Street this weekend only.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The long-awaited superhero film "Black Panther" is almost here, and after watching the movie you can celebrate by going for drinks at a Black Panther-themed pop-up bar on U Street this weekend.

The Washington Post reports that from Thursday through Sunday, Enter Wakanda will take over the Red Lounge at 14th and U streets NW with themed cocktails and "interactive experiences."

The pop-up bar craze appears to be nowhere near subsiding in the D.C. area. We've had themed bars for Game of Thrones, the Cherry Blossom Festival, and even Super Mario Brothers.

Enter Wakanda will be a tribute to Black Panther and what it means to the African-American community. Artists have created traditional African thrones, similar to what is seen in the movie, and other artwork will be on display at the bar, according to the Post.

The bar will be open from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 2 a.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 a.m. Sunday. The charge is $5-$10 and it is located at 2013 14th Street NW.
