Body Of GW Student Found In Rubble Of Florida Condo Collapse
Rescue crews recovered the body of a rising junior at George Washington University in the rubble of a collapsed condo building in Florida.

SURFSIDE, FLORIDA — Rescue crews recovered the body of a rising junior at George Washington University last week in the rubble of a collapsed condominium building in Surfside, Florida, according to Miami-Dade police.
The bodies of George Washington University student Deborah Berezdivin, 21, and her boyfriend, University of Chicago student Ilan Naibryf, were recovered last Wednesday.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue announced July 7 that their efforts were switching from searching for survivors of the Champlain Towers South collapse to a recovery mission. The partial building collapse happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 24.

Miami-Dade County officials announced Sunday that the confirmed death toll from the June 24 catastrophe was 90, with a remaining list of 31 other people feared lost under the rubble.
GW Hillel posted a message written by Berezdivin’s friends, calling her “passionate” and a friend to “many.”
