Boy, 16, Charged With 1st Degree Murder In 2021 Homicide: Police
A 16-year-old Southeast boy was charged in the May 2021 fatal shooting of 31-year-old Anwar Christian of Southeast.
WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives arrested a 16-year-old boy Thursday in connection with the 2021 fatal shooting of 31-year-old Anwar Christian of Southeast, according to a police release.
On May 13, 2021, police found Christian suffering from a gunshot wound in the 200 block of 37th Place, Southeast. They'd been called to the area around 11:34 a.m. for the report of a shooting. Christian was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries on June 29, 2021.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court custody order, police arrested the teenager from Southeast on Thursday and charged him with first degree murder while armed.
