📢 Community members - Adopters and fosters are needed for 13&nbsp;dogs on the urgent list by Tuesday, 8/4.&nbsp;&nbsp;Please go meet and adopt dogs today. The adoption fee is $0 for Maryland 3000.&nbsp;They are at full capacity with dogs&nbsp;during construction and need space for more dogs coming in.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Visit Planet Word on the first Wednesday of each month for after-hours wordplay from 5 to 8 p.m. All three floors of the museum will stay open late, including the interactive “Unlock the Music” karaoke gallery and the laugh-out-loud “Joking Around” humor gallery. It’s the ultimate happy hour and game night combo: explore the museum, test your skills with word-based puzzles and games, and browse the Present Perfect gift shop for a little retail therapy.

Creating Characters That Stick: Comedic Personas For Sketch (Online)Wednesday, August 5 (online), meeting 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This is an online class, conducted through Zoom. Participants must have a reliable Internet connection and a computer, phone or device with a web camera and microphone.
A 90-minute workshop that shows participants how to build bold, memorable comedic characters that hold up in sketch, improv and everyday storytelling. Through simple frameworks and live exercises, teams learn how to identify core traits, heighten behaviors, and create personas that stay funny, grounded, and usable across different writing formats. Great for boosting creativity, collaboration, and sharper comedic thinking.
About the Instructor: Nikki Frias is a comedy teacher specializing in helping people find their voice in comedy. She’s the author of "Does This Divorce Make Me Look Fat?" and "Damn, You Still Single?" Her work has appeared in PopSugar, Forbes, The Daily Beast, and Boardroom.
