I Regret Nothing is a one woman show about the funny, shocking, and ultimately redemptive story of a successful entrepreneur who found herself in way over her head, and couldn't figure out how she got there in the first place. It started with a Jewfro, took a detour to bombing on a comedy stage in NYC, and included a 4am pitstop in the ER with her pants at her ankles. And it gets a little worse from there. You will laugh. You might cry. And you might leave regretting things a little less.

Going to High Holiday services without any background can feel like seeing a movie in a language you don’t speak—you can feel the power of it, but you’re mostly watching other people be moved by something you can’t quite access.
In this class led by guest Rabbi Jason Kimelman-Block, who will co-lead this year’s High Holiday services with Rabbi Jenna, learn about the structure, symbolism, and theology of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur—the architecture of the prayerbook, the meaning behind the central prayers, what the shofar is actually trying to do to you, and why the whole experience is more psychologically sophisticated than it might look. You’ll walk away with new eyes for one of the most powerful ritual experiences in Judaism.
Come early for happy hour to toast to a new year and meet new people (maybe even someone to sit next to at services).

From doing our taxes to applying for financial aid, housing assistance, unemployment, disability, or Medicaid, dealing with government bureaucracy can be a nightmare. The hoops we must jump through—the paperwork, aggravation, and mental effort imposed on citizens to access their rights and benefits—are what journalist and <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/author/annie-lowrey/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Atlantic staff writer</a> Annie Lowrey has termed the “time tax.” So how did the world’s wealthiest country end up with such a convoluted, punitive, and inept system of public admin­istration?
In The Time Tax: How the Government Wastes Our Time—and How to Fix It, Lowrey traces the history of administrative burdens in the U.S. from the Civil War to today, revealing how they were historically built as a tool of discrimination. She examines the effect of time taxes on civic life, from how they amplify inequality and entrench poverty to how they reduce trust in government. Lowrey shows that it doesn’t have to be this way and provides a point-by-point guide for reclaiming our precious time.
Lowrey, also the author of Give People Money, will be in conversation with her husband Ezra Klein, a columnist and podcast host at The New York Times and the co-author of Abundance.

About the Class: Unleash your inner-SNL writer in our beginner’s guide to sketch comedy, where you’ll learn how to turn a funny idea into a fully realized sketch. Through writing exercises, read-throughs, and group feedback sessions, you’ll learn how sketch comedy works and develop your own original material. Whether you’re interested in performing, writing, or simply exploring your creativity, this class will give you the tools to start creating comedy of your own. About the Instructor: Isaiah Headen is a sketch comedian, filmmaker, and producer from the Washington, DC area. He is a member of Bad Medicine, one of DC’s longest-running sketch comedy troupes, and one of the producers of DC Sketchfest, an annual four-day sketch comedy festival. Isaiah has performed around North America including cities like Seattle, Austin, Toronto, and New York. His comedy is inspired by Key &amp; Peele, Chappelle’s Show, Futurama, and a lifelong love of cartoons. He enjoys writing weird sketches, producing live shows, and embarrassing himself on stage.
