This 100% online course delivers key insights and education to skillfully care for children. Earn your certificate in just 10 weeks.

Course Description:

Nannies play an important role in helping children reach their full potential, promoting confidence and healthy lifestyles. This non-credit course was developed to provide guidelines and best practices for Nannies, Au Pairs, childcare professionals, and parents of children ages 3-14 years.

The 100% online course focuses on peer interaction, youth development, childhood illnesses, productivity strategies, effective communication proficiency, and more. The course includes direct instruction and a proctored examination.

Time: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm (EST)

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Credentials Earned: Upon completion of this course, students will receive a University of the District of Columbia (UDC) certificate.

Course Topics Include:

  • Child development foundations: milestones, ages, and stages
  • Effective caretaker tools and resources
  • Health and safety essentials
  • Managing peer interactions
  • Behavior guidance techniques
  • Effective communication proficiency

Who Should Participate? Caretakers, babysitters, youth counselors, aupairs, and anyone interested in learning the top caregiving fundamentals.

Course Fee: $125.00

Fee Includes: Class supplies and support for at-risk youth development services in the District of Columbia.
