President Lincoln's Cottage

Enjoy a comedy show at one of DC's coolest historic homes! The Two Faces comedy series started several years ago, bringing live entertainment to Abraham Lincoln's favorite retreat. The October show has the theme of "political brawling," since Abe Lincoln was no stranger to partisan politics. The cast from The Washington Roast will present a special show where presidents from history take center stage -- and insult each other for our amusement.

Use promocode Patch10 for a 10% discount! The celebrated Jasper Quartet — hailed as “expressively assured and beautifully balanced” (Gramophone) — takes center stage in Chiarina’s season opener that draws on poems and legends. Reinaldo Moya’s Yara, inspired by the myth of Venezuela’s most powerful female deity, enlivens vibrant string quartet writing with musical imagery and folk allusions, and Mozart’s mature string quartet famously elevates the cello to a melodic role. Schoenberg’s storied string sextet Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), based on the poem of the same name, tells an otherworldly story of love and redemption through the lush, expressive musical language of turn-of-the-century Vienna.
