🚨 Please help save dogs today by applying to adopt or foster! An ongoing overcrowding crisis at PG County Animal Shelter resulted in a devastating loss of 16 dogs euthanized for space two weeks ago today! More adoptable dogs were euthanized since then! There was no urgent list notice for transparency to rescue partners and community members! Now, there is a new urgent list to provide them a chance and have time to help save them.
📢 Community members - Adopters and fosters are needed today for 17 dogs on this urgent list! Please go meet and adopt them or apply to foster them. These dogs are at risk of being euthanized on Wednesday only due to space. Scroll to more photos and links to view them. They are over capacity with dogs and need space for more dogs coming in.Update: As of 10/22 am, 16 dogs need adopters and fosters. Pedro has placement. Check for updates at the Facebook link.
🐶 Adopters: Please go to the shelter today (11am to 7pm, arrive by 5:30pm or no later than 6pm). Adopters are able to meet 2 dogs and bring dogs for meet and greets.

DC Improv Comedy Club

Come out and wordplay! You're invited to watch or compete in Pun DMV, our pun contest. The night is hosted by Dana Fleitman, and for Halloween we have a special extra event:
The Costume Contest: Come to the show in your best punny costume. (As in, "cereal killer.") The audience's favorite costume will win a cash prize! To participate, buy a "costume contest" ticket. Costume contest tickets are also good for admission.
The Freestyle: Interested in participating in the October 27 Freestyle event? Complete the Google form at this link. Each competitor chooses a punning theme, then prepares in advance a three-minute speech packed with puns inspired by that theme. On the night of the show, the competitors deliver their speeches on stage. The audience favorite wins!
The Tournament: An on-the-spot punning tournament featuring up to 20 people. At the start of each match, contestants are given a theme. They then take turns making up puns on the spot. People are eliminated when they're stumped. The last person standing moves on to the next round (or victory). Anyone in attendance can compete, and you can sign up on site when you arrive.
The winners get cash prizes from the Improv (and eternal glory)!
