Capitol Heights Man Killed In High-Speed Crash
Maryland man dies after car he was driving strikes a utility pole in Southeast.
WASHINGTON, DC — A Maryland man died Sunday night when the vehicle he was driving at a high rate of speed struck a utility pole in Southeast, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.
Detectives from MPD's Major Crash Investigations Unit determined Christopher Allen Brown, 40, of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was driving a 2010 Ford Mustang around 8:39 p.m., at a high rate of speed in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Ave., S.E., when he lost control of the vehicle. The car mounted the curb and struck a utility pole.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported Brown to a nearby hospital, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
