WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a Northeast man Tuesday night in the Columbia Heights area, according to a police release.

Officers from the Third District responded around 8:51 p.m., to the 2800 block of Georgia Ave., N.W., for the report of an aggravated assault. Arriving on the scene, they found a man inside a residence suffering from a gunshot would. D.C. Fire and EMS determined the man had died and transported him later to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police identified the decedent as Glenn Wright, 25, of Northeast.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this homicide to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
