Construction Worker Pulled from Hole in DC [VIDEO]

Rescue personnel had to cut through rebar and lift the victim out with a crane after a medical emergency.

WASHINGTON, DC — A construction worker has been pulled from a hole at a site in Southeast on Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency.

Rescuers were called to the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE at a construction site, where they found a worker suffering from a medical emergency not caused by trauma, D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted Wednesday morning.

Emergency personnel administered CPR and continued to administer "advanced" life support after removing the victim from the hole. They had to cut rebar in order to access the patient, according to a tweet sent at 10:43 a.m.
