Construction Worker Seriously Injured In Northeast Washington
A construction worker was seriously injured after he was hit by a steel rod at a Northeast Washington construction site.
WASHINGTON, DC — A construction worker was seriously injured after he was hit by a steel rod at a Northeast Washington construction site Tuesday morning, DC Fire and EMS officials said.
The unidentified man was injured at a below grade work site in the 100 block of K St. NE., officials said. He was hit by a rebar, a steel bar commonly used in the construction industry to strengthen and hold concrete, officials said.
Officials treated the injured worker on the scene, secured him in a rescue basket and lifted him out of the site by a crane.

The man will be transported to the hospital with serious traumatic injuries, police said.
