Cyclist Struck, Killed In DC: Report

The cyclist reportedly was hit on M Street in the West End area.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A cyclist has died after being struck while riding in the West End neighborhood in D.C. on Saturday, according to a report.

DCist reports the 36-year-old Jeffrey Hammond Long was biking on M Street when a truck traveling in the same direction tried to make a right turn on New Hampshire Avenue NW at 2:15 p.m.

The cyclist fell under the truck after they collided, and Hammond was taken to the hospital. He died from his injuries on Sunday.
