Dave Chappelle Urges DC Statehood In New Video
The comic is a native of D.C. and has made comments in favor of making the District a state before.

WASHINGTON, DC -- D.C. native Dave Chappelle is once again making an appeal for the District to achieve statehood, this time sitting down for a D.C. statehood commercial along with one of the city's two "shadow senators," Paul Strauss.
"To this day, hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians are unrepresented in the federal government with a vote, and the senator and I hope to change that," said Chappelle, who graduated from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
Chappelle publicly called for D.C. statehood during the unveiling of the new Ben's Chili Bowl mural last year. He called his inclusion in the new mural "one of the greatest honors."
