Watch Livestream Of DC Bald Eagle Egg Hatching
Mr. President and the First Lady are watching their first egg hatch, you can watch on a livestream.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Stop the presses, we have a "pip."
The DC Eagle Cam tweeted that one of the two bald eagle eggs laid by Mr. President and First Lady at a nest in the National Arboretum is showing evidence of a "pip," which is when the chick inside uses an "egg-tooth" on the tip of its top beak to start breaking out of the egg.
It can take a day or two for the eaglet to emerge from its shell. The pip was noted on Sunday, so it could emerge Monday or Tuesday.

The first egg was laid on March 25, and the second on March 28. Since an incubation period is about 35 days, the chicks are right on schedule.

They have no names yet, but the DC Eagle Cam likely will hold a public contest soon.
The National Arboretum eagles are one of two famous bald eagle pairs in the District. Two eaglets were recently born in a nest over the D.C. police academy in Southwest D.C.
