DC Biker Dies In Fatal Motorcycle Crash: Police

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that killed a 28-year-old DC man.

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Unit are investigating a fatal traffic accident where a 28-year-old DC man was killed.

At about 11:21 p.m. Tuesday, a motorcyclist — identified as Raheem Johnson of Northeast, DC — was traveling at a high rate of speed when he went over the crest of a bridge and struck an unoccupied truck parked in the 2100 block of Queens Chapel Road, NE., police said.

Johnson tried to stop, but lost control and ran into the back of the parked truck, police said. The truck had its hazard lights, headlights, and orange emergency warning lights activated.

DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The case is currently under investigation by the Major Crash Investigations Unit. Anyone with information regarding this case should call 202-727-9099.
