DC Homicide Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting In Shipley
Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a Monday night fatal shooting of a Southeast man in Shipley.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting of a Southeast man that took place Monday night in the Shipley area of the city, according to a police release.
On Monday, March 9, around 8:48 p.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace, S.E., for the report of gunshots. Arriving officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. All efforts to save the victim failed, and he was pronounced dead.
MPD identified the decedent as Markiese Johnson, 24, of Southeast.
