DC Man Charged In Shooting Incident; 2nd Suspect Remains At Large
Metropolitan Police Department detectives made an arrest in connection with a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Sursum Corda.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the First District arrested a Northwest man in connection with a Wednesday afternoon shooting that occurred in the Sursum Corda area, according to a police report. MPD is also asking the public to help locate a second suspect in the case who remains at large.
Police say the suspects approached the victim around 2:51 p.m. in the unit block of L Street, Northwest. One of the suspects pointed a handgun and shot the victim. The suspects then attempted to flee the scene, but one of them was taken into custody by responding officers. Police recovered a firearm.
MPD arrested Malik Ford, 26, of Northwest and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun) and felon in possession of a firearm.

Police released photos of the second suspect whose image was captured by a nearby surveillance camera.
MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a violent crime in the District. Police ask anyone who can identify the person in the photos or who has information about this incident to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
