DC Man Dies In Hospital Months After Being Shot Near MD State Line
Maurice McRae of Northeast died at the end of April from injuries he received during a Feb. 19 shooting.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Maurice McRae of Northeast that occurred Feb. 19, inside a building on Bladensburg Road near the Maryland state line, according to a police release.
Officers responded around 7:29 p.m., to the 3000 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast for the report of a shooting inside a building, according to police. They found McRae suffering from a gunshot wound.
McRae was taken to the hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, but he succumbed to his injuries and died on April 27.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
