DC Man's Body Found 100 Miles Away In Rural Maryland: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — The body of a D.C. man who was reported missing last October has been found in a rural part of Maryland about 100 miles away from the District near the West Virginia state line.
Maryland State Police investigators received positive identification of 27-year-old Ariel Arnaldo Espinal, who disappeared from the D.C. area on Oct. 8. His decomposed remains were found in an embankment off a dirt road in Allegany County on April 21, according to a report from MSP.
The Metropolitan Police Department issued an alert on Oct. 12 noting that he had gone missing from the 5000 block of New Hampshire Ave. NW.

"The body was found approximately 15-20 feet from the road, down an embankment that was approximately eight feet high," the report states. "State Police crime scene technicians and Homicide Unit investigators immediately responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The body, which was clothed, showed possible trauma and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy."
