DC Medical Examiner Rules Traffic Fatality Was Accident
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the traffic-related death of Jarmetrius Clark was an accident.
WASHINGTON, DC — The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Thursday that the traffic-related death of 30-year-old Jarmetrius Clark of Southeast was accidental, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.
Around 10:50 p.m., on May 5, Clark was driving a Cadillac CTS at a high rate of speed northbound on Southern Avenue, Southeast, when he lost control of the car and hit a utility pole. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries. After succumbing to his injuries on Oct. 16, Clark was pronounced dead.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined that complications of multiple blunt force injuries were the cause of Clark's death. The manner of his death was ruled to be an accident.
