DC Police Employee Killed In Domestic Dispute With Son
Montgomery County Police charged Jesse Jimenez with the first-degree murder of his father Macklin Jimenez, a civilian employee of MPD.

DAMASCUS, MD — Macklin Jimenez, 46, a civilian employee of the Metropolitan Police Department, was killed Tuesday in a domestic-related homicide in Montgomery County, Maryland, according to a police release. Montgomery County Police detectives charged Jesse Jimenez, 24, of Gue Road in Damascus, with the first-degree murder of his father.
Around 10:57 a.m, MCPD officers from the Fifth District were dispatched to the Gue Road address for the report of a shooting. They found Macklin Jimenez in a basement bedroom, which was later identified as Jesse Jimenez’s bedroom, deceased from a gunshot wound.

Following a preliminary investigation, officers determined Jesse Jimenez was involved in a verbal dispute with his mother and father. Jesse Jimenez's sister joined the argument and they all entered the basement bedroom. Police say Jesse Jimenez then removed a handgun from his pocket and shot Macklin Jimenez. He then left the scene in his vehicle.

MCPD broadcast a lookout for Jesse Jimenez's vehicle, which a Fourth District officer observed in the area of southbound New Hampshire Avenue and Norbeck Road in the Spencerville area. Officers attempted to halt the vehicle, but Jesse Jimenez eventually stopped after turning onto Twig Road and fleeing the vehicle on foot. Officers arrested him in the area of the 14700 block of Good Hope Road and located a gun.
Police transported Jesse Jimenez to Central Processing Unit and charged with first-degree murder.

Macklin Jimenez’ body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be performed.
A 27-year MPD veteran, Macklin Jimenez was most recently assigned to the main office of the Investigative Services Bureau.
“Macklin Jimenez's tragic passing comes as a shock to our department, and our MPD family feels great sadness for this loss," said MPD Chief Peter Newsham, in a release. "His service and dedication to the Metropolitan Police Department and this city will never be forgotten, and I offer my deepest, most heartfelt condolences to his loved ones at this time."
