Homicide detectives identified the suspect in an 18-year-old cold case involving the death of two women in Marshall Heights.

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Homicide Cold Case Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department identified a suspect in a 2002 double homicide in the Marshall Heights area, according to a police release.

Around 3:25 a.m., on Aug. 12, 2002, officers from the Sixth District responded to the 4900 block of C St., S.E., for the report of a shooting. They found two adult women inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. After examining the two victims, D.C. Fire and EMS determined they showed no signs consistent with life. They were later identified as Ukea Davis, 18, of Northeast, and Stephanie Thomas, 19, of Southeast.

Following an investigation into the shooting, detectives determined the person responsible for Davis and Thomas' deaths was Michael Dupree Price of Southeast. Price was also the victim of a homicide, a May 5, 2017, fatal shooting in 4600 block of Benning Road, S.E. He was 36 at the time of his death.
