DC Police Investigate April Assault In Greenway As Homicide
Homicide detectives are investigating the death of William Johnson of Southeast, who recently succumbed to injuries he received in April.
WASHINGTON, DC — William Johnson, 64, of Southeast recently died from injuries he received in an April 7 attack in the Greenway area of the city, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release. Police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Officers from the Sixth District responded on April 7, around 5:45 a.m. to the 3200 block of G Street, Southeast for the report of a person down. Arriving officers found Johnson unconscious and unresponsive. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Johnson to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Johnson succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 16, and his body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was determined to be a homicide.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
