DC Police Investigate Armed Carjacking Cases

DC Police are investigating armed carjacking and armed robbery cases in the unit block of Galveston Street, Southwest.

WASHINGTON, DC — An 18-year-old DC man has been arrested and charged with armed robbery and carjacking while armed in connection to two incidents that took place in the unit block of Galveston Street, Southwest, police said. The incidents occurred on Friday, and police arrested Celot Carr, of Southwest, on Saturday.

The first incident took place just after 2 p.m. Carr and another suspect allegedly called out to a victim in the unit block of Galveston Street. When the victim approached them, Carr and his accomplice took out a hand gun and demanded the victim's personal property, police said. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene.

At about 10:03 p.m. later that night, Carr and a second suspect approached another victim and demanded that he get out of his vehicle. One of the suspects opened the driver side of the vehicle and brandished a hand gun, police said. The suspect then yanked the victim out of the vehicle and began to physically assault him. Both suspects got in the vehicle and fled the scene, police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to$10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent offense, including an armed robbery, committed in the District of Columbia.
