DC Police Investigate Armed Carjacking In Fort Totten Area

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Fourth District of the Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public's help in locating suspects in connection with an armed carjacking that took place Sunday afternoon in the Fort Totten area, according to a police release.

Around 3:43 p.m., the suspects approached the victim in the unit block of Kennedy Street, N.E. After brandishing handguns, they demanded the victim's property and vehicle. The victim complied and they drove away in the victim's vehicle.

Police released a photo of one of the suspects captured on a nearby camera.

Police ask anyone with information about the case or the individual in the photo to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for any violent crime in the District.
