DC Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Carver-Langston Neighborhood

A 25-year-old man was shot to death in the Carver-Langston neighborhood of Northeast Washington​ Tuesday, police said.

WASHINGTON, DC — DC Police are investigating a fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man that occurred in the Carver-Langston neighborhood of Northeast Washington Tuesday.

DC Police heard the sound of gunshots and responded to the 700 block of 18th St., NW, at about 7:24 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they located an unconscious male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

The decedent has been identified as DeAndre Riley of Southeast, DC. Riley succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital, police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
