DC Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Southeast
Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating the Monday night fatal shooting of a Southeast man.
WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a homicide that took place Monday night blocks away from the Congress Heights Metro Station, according to a police report. The victim has been identified as Angus Houston, 44, of Southeast.
On Jan. 27, around 6:43 p.m., officers from the Seventh District were dispatched to the the 1300 block of Congress Street, S.E., for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, officers found Houston suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment, but all life-saving efforts failed and Houston was pronounced dead.
MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in D.C. Police ask anyone with information about Monday night's shooting to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
