DC Police Officer Arrested for Being Drunk on Duty: Police
Officer Arthur Thompson was arrested early Monday morning after police say a citizen complained about his behavior.
WASHINGTON, DC — A Metropolitan Police Department officer has been arrested after being found under the influence of alcohol while on duty, according to a report from the department.
Police say a supervisor who was investigating a citizen complaint about an officer in the 1400 block of 18th Street SE at around 2:20 a.m. Monday morning found Officer Arthur Thompson "under the influence of alcohol while on duty," the report states.
"During the investigation, the supervisor detected the odor of alcohol," the report adds. "Field sobriety tests were conducted which confirmed the officer was under the influence."

Thompson is a four-year veteran of the police force. His "police powers have been revoked" and Internal Affairs is investigating, the report states.
