DC Rat Pulls Fire Alarm (Video)
The rat reportedly caused the evacuation of a condo building in D.C. last summer.
WASHINGTON, DC -- Rats are an increasing problem in D.C., but you probably didn't realize they were causing the evacuations of entire buildings by pulling the fire alarm.
The video (embedded below) posted by NBC Washington shows a rat leaping from a railing onto the fire alarm, pulling the lever and then falling off.
NBC reports that it caused the entire condo building to be evacuated when it happened last summer, and nobody knew what caused the fire alarm to go off until they reviewed the surveillance footage. The report doesn't indicate where exactly in D.C. it happened.
