DC Restaurant Among 20 Best New Eateries In USA: USA Today

WASHINGTON, DC -- USA Today is asking readers to rank the best new restaurants in the country, and among the 20 restaurants to be nominated was D.C.'s own Japanese eatery Himitsu in Northwest.

"The United States is home to more than a million different restaurants, according to the National Restaurant Association, with hundreds of new options opening up each year," USA Today's 10Best website states. "We asked a panel of food and travel experts to nominate their 20 favorite new restaurants to open in the past 18 months, ranging from chef-driven fast casual concepts to high end dining with a focus on hyper-local and sustainable ingredients."

Himitsu is situated at 828 Upshur Street NW. It offers Japanese and Asian inspired dishes, including sushi and cocktails.

10Best visitors can vote once per day for their favorite restaurant until voting ends Jan. 1, and the 10 winning restaurants will be announced Jan. 5.

As of Monday morning, Himitsu placed at No. 11 on the list in early voting.
