This DC Restaurant Is Among The 38 Most Elite US Eateries: Report
A popular restaurant in Columbia Heights has earned some major recognition from Eater.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Columbia Heights' Filipino dining sensation Bad Saint has been named among the 38 "essential restaurants in America" by Eater, the latest in a series of accolades for the up-and-coming D.C. hotspot.
Bad Saint knocked off Michelin-starred Rose's Luxury as the only D.C.-area establishment to make this list. The restaurant is the braindchild of chef Tom Cunanan, who has sought to bring modern Filipino cooking to the forefront in the District.
“His dishes are narcotic in their potency. Tear into his take on ukoy, a giant sweet potato fritter nearly the size of a basketball, to find shrimp or soft-shell crabs enmeshed in its crunchy tangles,” writes Bill Addison, who compiled the list for Eater.

It's a pretty exclusive restaurant, with just two dozen seats, and like Rose's Luxury you can't get a reservation -- you have to wait in line instead, sometimes for hours. And yet, the food is so good, people do it.
