This DC Restaurant Has The Best Waffles: Food Network
If you're looking for an awesome waffle the day after National Waffle Day, this is the place to go, says the Food Network.

WASHINGTON, DC -- You missed National Waffle Day, which was Sunday, but if you still have a hankering for a breakfast treat, the Food Network has listed the best places to get them in each state and the District. And Founding Farmers topped the list in D.C.
Specifically, the Food Network called attention to their chicken and waffles dish, writing: "The birds are brined for a full day before they’re fried (in a pan, staying true to Southern tradition), while the from-scratch waffle batter hits the iron just before the plate is served. A creamy white gravy ties the two elements together into one cohesive entree."
The Founding Farmers on Pennsylvania Avenue in D.C. -- it's a chain now with eateries in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania as well -- has become quite the popular attraction, frequently boasting packed dining rooms and plenty of buzz.

It's gotten its fair share of criticism as well, most notably a scathing review in the Washington Post in 2016 that prompted a response from the owner.
