DC Restaurant Named One of the Best in the Country

Rose's Luxury is earning accolades for its unique style of dining.

WASHINGTON, DC — Eater.com has just released its list of the best restaurants in America, and once again Rose's Luxury on Capitol Hill has earned a spot on the list.

In fact, Eater has named Rose's Luxury to its "hall of fame" because it's been on the list for three consecutive years. The restaurant is located in Barracks Row at 717 8th St. SE, and has earned a name for itself as an eatery with excellent new American tapas and great hospitality -- although you'll have to wait a while to get a table and there's no reservations.

"Often-lengthy waits for a table end with calming hospitality and Aaron Silverman’s strikingly thrilling acts of culinary daring," Eater says in its description of Rose's Luxury.

It's the latest honor for the highly regarded restaurant. In May, Silverman won the prestigious James Beard Award for the best chef in the Mid-Atlantic region, beating out every restaurant in the D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia areas.

Why does the restaurant refuse to take reservations? It's all about Silverman's vision for the restaurant, the website states.

"We maintain this practice for a few reasons," the restaurant's FAQ states. "Our priority since opening has been to remain grounded as a neighborhood restaurant, and we want it to be possible for anyone to dine with us on any given evening without having to book a date several weeks in advance."

The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., and if you want a seat you better get their early. Otherwise, you'll have to hang out at a nearby bar as you wait an hour or more for a table to open up.
