DC Restaurants Named Among the Best Eateries in the US for Families

Everyone loves to dine out, but it isn't always so easy when you have kids -- many fine dining restaurants either don't want them at their tables at all or don't make any effort to provide dishes they'll enjoy. But a few restaurants in D.C. have been named some of the most kid-friendly in the nation in a recent ranking by OpenTable.com.

The site released its "Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Top Summer Destinations in America" list for 2016, highlighting popular summer destinations like Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Seattle in addition to D.C.

"It’s officially summer, and families are hitting the road and taking to the skies for their annual travels," OpenTable states on their site. "To make this year’s adventures your most delicious yet, we’ve rounded up the Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Top Summer Travel Destinations in America."

What makes a restaurant kid-friendly? An eatery must welcome children and serve food that "pleases all palates." The D.C. restaurants identified are based on 1.4 million reviews of verified diners.

The list is below, and includes some very recognizable -- and somewhat surprising -- names:

So the next time you want to go out and get a meal, and you don't want to hire a babysitter, you might consider bringing the young ones to one of the restaurants above for a family meal.
