DC Snowfall Prediction: Dusting To 2 Inches
The bomb cyclone is coming, and it's looking like we'll get slightly brushed by the storm during the Thursday morning commute.

WASHINGTON, DC -- It's all anyone can talk about right now: the "bomb cyclone" currently making its way up the East Coast. So what will that mean as far as snow in our area? Probably not a whole lot, but we could get a couple inches.
The storm will cause huge snowfall totals along the coast, but those figures quickly drop the further inland you get. We are right on the edge of the storm, so the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang predicts we'll get a dusting to two inches.
However, the timing could make the snow a bit more disruptive to our area than usual. It's expected to hit right around 4 to 7 a.m. on Thursday, and it will stick thanks to the cold temperatures, so it could result in a messy morning commute.

To our east, snowfall totals will reach between two to four inches most likely, but to our west in Fairfax and Montgomery counties, those totals plummet to a dusting or even just a few flurries.
The National Weather Service urges caution to morning commuters, noting that the snow will turn roads slick very quickly.

Snow could start falling as early as 11 p.m. Wednesday, but it should be completely over by 10 a.m. in our area.
