DC Solar Eclipse: Live Updates/Feed

It's finally here: the Great American Solar Eclipse is upon us, and all of D.C. will be watching. Stay tuned here for live updates.

The Great American Solar Eclipse has begun. The very first little piece of the moon was pushing into the sun's profile way out on the West Coast shortly after noon. It should begin to cover the sun here in the D.C. area at around 1:20 p.m., reaching its highest coverage (82 percent) at 2:42 p.m. in the District and completely ending at around 4 p.m.

Sadly, weather is likely to be a bit of a pain today, with partly cloudy skies obscuring the sun at times. However, since the event will last for hours, we should get many solid glimpses of the sun.

Below is a live feed of updates from the D.C. area on the eclipse.
