DC Winter Storm: Live Updates, Photos
Snow will be falling in the D.C. region throughout the day. We'll have continual updates right here.

Update 1:50 p.m.: Snow is still descending upon the D.C. region, but the show is probably just about over for us as far as accumulation is concerned, CWG said in a video update. The region has gotten a range of about 2-6 inches, with downtown D.C. getting 2-3 inches. Forecasters aren't expecting much more additional accumulation particularly in D.C. and west of the city, but east and northeast toward Baltimore they may see another 1-3 inches.
Update: 11:42 a.m.: The storm continues to rage, and the National Weather Service says we could see up to 8 inches:
Band of moderate to heavy snow pivoting across Balt-DC metro through midday; traveling will be difficult. Storm totals still forecast to be 1 ft + Northern MD/Potomac Highlands, 4-8" Central Shenandoah Valley-DC, less Fredericksburg-Southern MD. pic.twitter.com/8KQgKAdIQj

Here's a broader look at what the storm that is on its way looks like:
6:00 AM: A band of heavy snow is lifting northeast that will quickly make travel hazardous. Temperatures are below freezing in most locations, so exercise caution even if precipitation is light. pic.twitter.com/yWoXFqzqYG

Update 8:00 a.m.: Radar models show that the snow is really rolling in now, so expect plenty of accumulation over the next few hours -- as well as hazardous driving conditions.
8:00am: Solid area of precipitation, mainly in the form of snow, now covering the area. Should pick up some good accumulation over the next few hours with this. Roads, even treated ones, could become snow covered especially during heavier bursts. pic.twitter.com/l01Q8iF2Tk

If you've woken up this morning and wondered where the snow is, it's coming. Stay tuned to this post for live updates throughout the day of snowfall in the D.C. area.
So far, we're seeing a dusting in the region, but things are starting to pick up, says the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang.
"Per our forecasts yesterday, never expected much before 4-8am," CWG said on Twitter at 6:30 a.m. "So yes this 1st wave of mixed precip is arriving on time. That said we may be looking at low end of our forecast (which was already one of the lowest). Assessing now."
