DC Woman, 28, Killed In Northwest Shooting: Police
D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Northwest woman Wednesday night in the Sursum Corda area.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman in the Sursum Corda area of the District Wednesday night, according to a police report.
Around 10:45 p.m., officers from the First District responded to the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, N.W., for the report of gunshots. Arriving on the scene, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS took the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, but all lifesaving efforts failed and she was pronounced dead.
MPD identified the decedent as Shantal Hill, 23, of Northwest.
