Donald Trump May Kill White House Easter Egg Roll: Report

WASHINGTON, DC — It's only a few weeks until the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, and there hasn't been a peep out of the White House on any of the logistics, according to one report. And that's leading to questions about whether President Trump is going to bother holding it at all.

The Washington Post reports that although it's supposed to happen on April 17, there hasn't been any indication that anyone is working on the event.

It's not a small issue, either. The Easter Egg Roll is the White House's largest annual public event, with 35,000 parents and children attending last year.

And yet, it wouldn't be surprising if Trump ended the event unceremoniously. After all, he's certainly bucked a few D.C. traditions already. He's not going to the White House Correspondents' Association dinner. He isn't making any trips to Camp David. He doesn't bother visiting any D.C. businesses or restaurants.

One hopeful sign is a website that is not associated with the White House officially but posts about all things Easter Egg Roll. The site says that Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will host the 139th annual Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 17, with information coming soon. The site even asks for "high energy volunteers" to help out with crowd control and line management.

But don't be surprised if the White House lawn is empty the day after Easter Sunday.
