Double Shooting In Fairlawn Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured: DC Police
D.C. Police are investigating a Friday night shooting incident that left a Southwest man dead and another victim injured.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigation a fatal shooting that took place Friday night in Fairlawn, according to a police release. Police identified the deceased victim as Alante Moore, 28, of Southwest.
Around 8:12 p.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the 1500 block of 19th Street, S.E., for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Moore suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment, but all life-saving efforts failed and hew was pronounced dead.
A short time later, officers found a second adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
