During the COVID-19 pandemic, the communities we care about need support like never before, especially small businesses and marginalized communities. The Driver Foundation, a philanthropic initiative of D.C. digital agency Social Driver, launched Take-Out to Help Out during COVID-19. The effort has two goals: First, it's raising funds to purchase meals from LGBTQ-owned restaurants that have been affected by the economic effects of the pandemic. Then, the volunteers are delivering the food to nonprofit organizations that serve LGBTQ+ youth at risk of homelessness. To date they’ve raised $6,000.

The first nonprofit partners are SMYAL and Casa Ruby. The restaurants are Dupont Italian Kitchen, Mikko, Nazca Mochica and Three Fifty Bakery.
