WASHINGTON, DC — Dunkin’ made special deliveries to doctors, nurses and staff at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., and its satellite locations across the region to thank them for their service over the past year during the COVID-19 pandemic.
By the end of this week's deliveries, Dunkin’, with its Community Cruiser van, had donated a total of 145 dozen donuts, or 1,740 donuts, and $10,000 worth of Dunkin’ gift cards to the health care staff at Children’s National’s main campus in D.C. and 11 of its satellite locations across the D.C. metropolitan area.
“Dunkin’ and our D.C. area franchisees understand this has obviously been a challenging year for all, but we wanted to send our extreme gratitude to the healthcare professional who have kept our communities safe over the past year,” Colleen Krygiel, field marketing manager for Dunkin’, said in a statement.

Along with this week's deliveries, Dunkin’ franchisees in the D.C. area, all of whom are independent businesspeople in their communities, have supported front-line workers over the past year.

“We are so thankful for the top-notch care and guidance these healthcare heroes provided us amidst these trying times, and we felt it was important to express our appreciation for them the best way we know how – with donuts,” Krygiel said.

Along with thanking front-line workers, Dunkin' franchisees are involved in giving back to the community in other ways.
In January, Dunkin' of Washington, D.C. came up with a sweet deal to encourage people to donate blood and platelets during National Blood Donor Month. The company partnered with the American Red Cross National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region to provide 10,000 coupons redeemable for 1 pound of Dunkin' packaged ground coffee for all blood donors in the region.
